Travel + Leisure’s recently announced list of the 100 Best Hotels in the World, part of its annual World’s Best Awards, features only one representative from Vietnam: Regent Phu Quoc. The resort was also voted by the magazine’s readers as the Best Resort in Southeast Asia.
Built on the real-life experiences and votes of international readers, Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards is regarded as one of the most influential benchmarks in the global hospitality industry. Unlike many awards decided by expert panels, the ranking directly reflects how travelers evaluate properties after experiencing their services. It is also why the list carries significant weight in shaping destination choices among affluent travelers.
Regent Phu Quoc’s position as Vietnam’s sole representative in the global Top 100 is another indication that the country’s resort products are increasingly meeting the exacting standards of the international market.

Developed by BIM Land, Regent Phu Quoc follows an all-suite-and-villa resort model, with a strong focus on personalized experiences. From dining and wellness to sea-based activities, its services are designed as a seamless journey rather than a collection of standalone amenities.
According to Juan Losada, General Manager of Regent Phu Quoc, being named Best Resort in Southeast Asia by Travel + Leisure readers is a recognition of the entire team’s efforts to deliver personalized experiences and memorable moments for guests from around the world.
Behind a resort is an entire destination
In the international hospitality industry, award-winning resorts are rarely the result of a single standalone development. Behind them is often a long-term destination strategy, where master planning, infrastructure, service ecosystems and operational capabilities evolve together to create lasting appeal.
Regent Phu Quoc is part of Phu Quoc Marina, an integrated resort and entertainment complex developed by BIM Land on Bai Truong Beach, Phu Quoc. Here, resort accommodation, hospitality, commerce, entertainment and tourism infrastructure have been planned with a long-term vision. This approach helps create a destination capable of sustaining year-round appeal, rather than relying solely on natural scenery.

Over the years, resorts within Phu Quoc Marina have consistently appeared in international rankings and awards. InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort has been recognized for several consecutive years by the World Travel Awards; Regent Phu Quoc became the first hotel in Phu Quoc to receive a MICHELIN Key, was selected for The World’s 50 Best Discovery, and has now continued its global recognition as Vietnam’s only representative in Travel + Leisure’s Top 100 Hotels in the World. This series of accolades reflects the growing maturity of an entire destination ecosystem.
It also shows that Phu Quoc Marina’s appeal does not come from a single hotel, but from its ability to shape a destination that consistently produces internationally recognized hospitality products. BIM Land is applying this approach across other destinations in Vietnam and Laos, with the participation of leading international operating brands, gradually expanding a network of destinations built to global standards.
For the tourism industry, the greatest value of international rankings does not lie in trophies or titles. They build trust. When a destination is repeatedly recognized by respected organizations and international readers, its image is gradually strengthened in the minds of global travelers. This, in turn, helps improve its ability to attract high-quality international visitors while enhancing the brand value of the destination.
Regent Phu Quoc’s recognition at the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2026 is therefore more than the success of a single resort. In a broader sense, it is another sign that Vietnam’s high-end resort sector is gaining clearer visibility on the global tourism map, where quality of experience, service excellence and destination-making capabilities are becoming enduring competitive advantages.
