Tay Ho Half Marathon 2026 – Powered by BIM Group attracts over 10,000 runners in competition
On the morning of April 11, the opening ceremony of the Tay Ho Half Marathon 2026 – Powered by BIM Group officially took place, inaugurating a large-scale sporting event with the participation of more than 10,000 athletes from 45 countries and territories. This year, the race has been elevated to a city-level event, marking the sixth consecutive year of BIM Group’s accompaniment as the Brand Sponsor.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of representatives from the Vietnam Sports Administration, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the People’s Committee of Tay Ho Ward, BIM Group, sponsors, marathon clubs, and a large number of participating athletes.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, highly appreciated the role of Tay Ho Half Marathon 2026 in promoting the spirit of sports and contributing positively to the capital’s development. According to him, the event not only stimulates local economic activity but also enhances Hanoi’s image as an appealing destination on both the national and international sports tourism map.
The representative of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports also reaffirmed the Department’s ongoing support for impactful sporting activities: “We consistently endorse and facilitate meaningful events such as the Tay Ho Half Marathon. In particular, we commend the Organizing Committee for their efforts in creating a professional, safe, and inspiring platform for the running community”.
Having accompanied the race since its inaugural seasons, Ms. Pham Thi Ly, Director of External Communications at BIM Group, emphasized: “For BIM Group, supporting sports is not merely about sponsoring an event; it is about fostering a positive lifestyle, resilience, and community cohesion”. She further affirmed the Group’s appreciation for the values the race delivers, not only in terms of scale but also in inspiring healthy living, thereby contributing to the image of a dynamic and livable Hanoi.
This year, athletes will compete across three distances: 5km, 15km and 21km, along routes that embrace the distinctive beauty of West Lake, passing iconic landmarks such as Tran Quoc Pagoda, Tay Ho Palace, and Quan Thanh Temple. Accordingly, the journey of conquering this legendary course is not only a test of endurance but also an opportunity to explore Hanoi’s cultural and historical landscape, where the legacy of a thousand years of Thang Long is reflected in every stride.
In addition, the racecourse has been optimally designed and officially measured by the National Athletics Federation, ensuring that athletes can achieve peak performance while fully appreciating the scenic beauty of the region.
A highlight of this year’s edition is the medal design, inspired by the Ly Dynasty dragon – a symbol of strength, prosperity, and the noble spirit of the imperial capital. According to the Organizing Committee, this detail enhances both the event’s identity and the commemorative value of completing the race.
Also in the afternoon of the same day, the talkshow “Fuel Your Run – Powering Properly for Better Performance”, organized by Elite Fitness, brought vibrant energy to the event. Valuable insights on nutrition and fueling strategies from Elite Fitness experts received strong interest and enthusiastic engagement from attending athletes.
In its sixth season, Tay Ho Half Marathon 2026 aspires to continue becoming an integral part of Hanoi’s sporting landscape, where West Lake is not only a legendary course and a test of endurance, but also a platform for connection, inspiration, and the promotion of a vibrant sporting spirit within the community.
