Experiencing the InterContinental Residences Halong Bay

On April 16, 2022, 120 guests experienced for the first time the pilot Beach villa under the InterContinental Residences Halong Bay project invested by BIM Land. This is one of the project's seven most spectacular beach villas, possessing a privileged view of the “heritage bay” with magnificent natural scenery.

The pilot villa has a site area of 457m2 and gross floor area (including the basement) of 617m2. The building consists of two main floors and a cellar, three bedrooms, and a 34m2 swimming pool. The project is in a rare location nowadays in Ha Long with a 360-degree view of the bay. Thus, the owner may enjoy a panoramic view of the “heritage bay” from any point within the property.

The WATG design consultancy combines unique elements to create the simulated architecture of "a bay within a bay". It evokes the famed Ha Long Bay while remaining fresh, original, adventurous, and resort-style owing to current design elements. In particular, this entire structure is calculated to be at the ideal height above sea level to protect the building from high tides and also create privacy for homeowners.

The interior of the villa is inspired by the panoramic nature and fisherman life in Ha Long Bay. Traditional fisher’s lanterns became the prototype for chandeliers and interior lights. The double-knit motif of the fishing boat is hand-crafted with bamboo and rattan material, becoming a highlight in the interior space, combined with stone and brass, evoking the feeling of luxurious life on the bay. The bass color palette is dotted with the emerald green of the sea.

For the design ideas of the quartet of architectural consultants WATG, landscape consultant Coopers Hill, interior consultant P49 Design, and LPA lighting consultant to be realized with the highest construction quality, BIM Land investor and the operating brand - the InterContinental have selected the general construction contractor Coteccons and Mace to take charge of project management, construction management, and quality supervision. These are worldwide and domestic companies with a strong reputation and track record of completing high-end real estate projects.

By InterContinental’s strict standards, the current pilot villa is the first version. The experts of the operating brand and the investor will carry out three more rounds of appraisal until the final completed project is handed over to the owner. The project is expected to come into operation in 2023.
