“5150 Triathlon” is an Olympic standard triathlon, owned by the famous IRONMAN organization, which is familiar to the sports enthusiasts community. 2022 marks the first time the 5150 Triathlon tournament is held in Vietnam, specifically Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) with the name "BIM Group 5150 Phu Quoc 2022".
Having the advantage of a 1.5 km long coastline, a green campus filled with world-class brands, the Phu Quoc Marina integrated resort complex of the developer BIM Land (a member of BIM Group) hosted the tournament. “BIM Group 5150 Phu Quoc 2022” includes Olympic-standard racetracks, highly appreciated by representatives of IRONMAN and many professional athletes.
True to the name "5150", athletes will experience a total distance of 51.5 km according to Olympic standards, including 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling, and 10 km of long-distance running. In each part of event, participants not only have the opportunity to challenge and break their limits but also have the opportunity to make their mark on the triathlon race track, enjoying the natural scenery of Phu Quoc in the most beautiful season of the year.
The athletes experienced a total 51.5 km long journey on "the most beautiful triathlon track on pearl island"
The journey begins with the swimming track. The athletes will start at Con So Square - the iconic work close to the beach of Bai Truong, located next to the InterContinental Phu Quoc resort - before immersing in the calm, blue water of pearl island.
The swimming path is shaped like an equilateral triangle, with each side being 500 meters long. Bai Truong is one of Phu Quoc's most beautiful beaches, having crystal clear water. The slope from the starting sandy beach to the water's edge, in particular, is approximately 20 degrees, which means that athletes swimming about 80 meters from the shore can still see the sea floor. Competing in the strait without underground currents is also advantageous for new triathletes.
Meanwhile, 40 kilometers of cycling content will be divided into two rounds around the Phu Quoc Marina integrated resort complex. Throughout the journey, athletes can admire the Sailing Club Signature Resort Phu Quoc, Palm Garden urban area with its feature of green palm trees stretching along the road. Arrive early to experience the cycling route at Phu Quoc Marina, Lam Tuc Ngan, the "Vietnam triathlon queen," shared her thought, "This promises to be an enchanting road for those who are passionate about speed."
The race track of “BIM Group 5150 Phu Quoc 2022” is tailored to each location, so that athletes can enjoy the natural scenery of Phu Quoc in the most beautiful season of the year.
Before the finish line, a 10-kilometer run is planned via roads lined with two rows of green trees, continuing along the complex and passing by Con So Square, with the highlight of the road running along the ocean. This allows the competitors to take in the sights and breathe in the fresh ocean air before concluding on the magnificent coastline in front of the InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort.
As a big-scale competition, "BIM Group 5150 Phu Quoc 2022" attracts not only a significant number of Vietnamese and foreign athletes but also tourists, fans, and volunteers from Vietnam and outside.
Many meaningful activities are also held in parallel at Phu Quoc Marina from November 18 to November 20. Typical examples included the event "Newborns Vietnam Runout" to raise public awareness of infant mortality, or the music festival "Phu Quoc Marina Beach Fest" on the beach with many entertainment activities.

Here, athletes and visitors have the opportunity to "go to the wharf" with unique "Foam Party" parties by the giant 3-story swimming pool Phu Quoc Waterfront; experience food stalls, attractive cocktail parties; "burn your best" with a music festival with the participation of many high tier celebrities such as Isaac, Gigi Huong Giang... These fascinating parallel activities promise a time of recovery, relaxation, and connecting with friends and other athletes after stressful races.
