GREEN ECONOMIC COMPLEX: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SPOTLIGHT
On April 16, 2022, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation attended the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of Ninh Thuan province (April 1, 1992 - April 1, 2022). The Prime Minister visited and directed several large projects and works in the province, including the clean salt of BIM Group in the Thuan Nam district.
Separated from Thuan Hai province and re-established in 1992, from a land known only for sun and wind, with the image of hardworking salt makers, Ninh Thuan is reaching out to develop, turning what was thought to be limitations into potential. According to the report of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, the average growth rate over the past 30 years is more than 8.1%/year. The province's gross domestic product in 2021 will increase nearly 70 times compared to 1992, and budget revenue will increase by more than 130 times. In addition to salt mining and production, in recent years Ninh Thuan has attracted investors in the field of renewable energy and its great tourism potential. Stating at the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of the province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Ninh Thuan is facing new and promising development opportunities.

During the recent business trip, the Prime Minister visited the complex of Renewable Energy combined with Industrial Production of BIM Group in Thuan Nam district. This is considered a successful example of effectively exploiting local potentials.
In 2006, BIM Group took the first steps to take advantage of the stable thermal radiation source of Ninh Thuan province to develop industrial salt at Quan The with an output of 300,000 tons/year, contributing 60% of the salt industry in Vietnam.
Renewable energy combined with the industrial salt production complex of BIM Group is a sustainable economic development model in Ninh Thuan.
Since 2018, the Group has continued to deploy the cluster of 3 Solar Power Plants BIM 1, BIM 2, and BIM 3. Within 11 months of 2021, BIM Wind Power Plant was officially put into commercial operation and has completed the optimization strategy of exploitation. Mining on an area of 2,500 ha produces industrial salt and combines clean energy with a total investment of 12,000 billion VND.
Quan The salt field has an output of 300,000 tons/year, applying advanced production technology to high-quality clean salt products, creating jobs for hundreds of local workers. The cluster of solar power plants and wind power plants has a total capacity of nearly 500 MW, contributing to providing clean energy for socio-economic development locally and nationally.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Vinh, Deputy General Director of BIM Energy Joint Stock Company, said: "Combining two economic sectors in the same area is to save land resources and maximize the local land use potential. This is a strategy for sustainable economic development"
